OUR STORY
Studio 23 has been growing, changing, and evolving since 2002-right alongside our family. What started as a small salon has traveled across state lines, weathered changing seasons of life, and continued to adapt to meet the needs of our clients and our community. Through every move and every pivot, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to caring for people well.
Over the years, Studio 23 has become more than a salon. It’s a place where relationships are built, where clients feel at home, and where our family works side by side. What began as a way to support our family has grown into a legacy business, built on creativity, sustainability, and community connection.
We’ve learned that longevity in this industry doesn’t come from standing still-it comes from listening, learning, and evolving. From traditional salon services to natural home and body products, refill systems, and family-run enterprises, Studio 23 continues to grow with intention.
When you walk through our doors, you’re not just visiting a salon or a shop, you’re becoming part of a story that’s been unfolding for more than two decades. And we’re so grateful to have you as part of it.

Our work has been featured in American Salon Magazine multiple times, including being highlighted as a “Big Fish in a Small Pond.”
We were chosen as the salon to represent Massachusetts in Matrix’s Spread the Love campaign—one salon from each state selected to serve their community and share the experience.
What started as a salon is now a family-centered self-care and retail space.
We are a proud Green Circle Salon, recycling salon waste and turning hair clippings into oil-spill cleanup materials.
Many of the products you see in our shop are handcrafted right here by our family.
Brian and Gayle met in high school while Gayle was training to be a cosmetologist—and he’s been getting free haircuts ever since.
